MANASSAS, Va. – One Saturday at Doug Esposito’s Vanguard Gym, Aubrey Hummer led the Muay Thai class and demonstrated some details for holding Thai pads for a partner. Assisted by Reed Miller, Aubrey Hummer taught pad holding techniques for multiple combinations such as the jab cross, hook to uppercut, and jab to back fist combo.
The class started with warm ups doing basic Muay Thai combinations. After several rounds of warm ups, the Muay Thai team stretched out parts of the body. The students were loose and ready to go. Aubrey and Reed then demonstrated the techniques for holding Thai pads. This included basic concepts such as emphasizing safety while holding Thai pads. After each demonstration, the students performed combinations on the pads using the pad holding techniques.
