On Saturday, September 25th (2010), the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) hosted its first submission grappling tournament in the Maryland/DC area. This was held at the Prince George’s Sports Complex in Landover, MD. The submission grappling competition included gi and no-gi divisions for competitors. Kids were also included in the tournament. The venue was large and there was plenty of room to warm up and compete. Submission grapplers and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu teams from many different states were represented.

Current Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Purple Belt World Champion, Andris Brunovskis (Team Lloyd Irvin) in the finals. Here, Brunovskis took first in this division.
Evan Gideon (Crazy 88-Team Lloyd Irvin) placed first at the 2010 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Championships in the Blue Belt division.
Josh Aguero (Pedro Sauer BJJ) in the Purple Belt semi-finals. Josh took second in his division.

Team Lloyd Irvin killed it in DC this weekend. All I could hear was “In first place TEAM LLOYD IRVIN!!!!”
